Zamzar
well it was worth starting Library2.1 just to find this program again. Had a play converting a powerpoint to pdf worked very well; powerpoint to HTML probably a waste of time. Can image it will be useful for those people who bring into the Library programmes that we don't have.

The last harrah !!!
I have really enjoyed learning2.0, appreciating that if I didn’t like the tool, I could spend five minutes gaining an understanding…then move onto something more interesting. There is just so much out there waiting - its incredible. From a library perspective, the trick will be to pick the right options and run with them, making sure we can both respond to our customer and their needs, and be proactive in the way we use the technology...and of course keeping up to date with what's new and cool !!!...if nothing else, it will keep our aged brains from atrophying.
I been spending some time over the length of the program, just spending 5 or 10 minutes roaming round the various libraries's blogpages, looking at what other library staff have produced through this program. Terrific stuff, and the fact that we can all get a birds eye view is huge. I've been going through tonite just bookmarking stuff that I want to follow up, being inspired by what other library staff have done

Podcasts
I got all motivated, excited even and decided to try creating a podcast, Took 45minutes to down load the program...great, NAH...forgot that my PC died last year, and after extensive resusitation and rehab, it has recovered to handle most things except installing new programs....might investigate PCs at work while systems coordinator's back is turned.

Week 22 Ebook fair
Ebooks: Moved onto the World E-book fair...downloaded a copy of Dante's The Divince comedy...took forever. Discovered their sci-fi CD. I've been a fan of Project Gutenberg for awhile. I find it very useful for those out-of-print items that are interesting, and I want to read, try before I buy so to speak. Many of the titles are simply not available in the mainstream any more. It does raise huge issue regarding copyright not so much on Gutenberg, but all those other sites covering books, music, film where the the rights of the copyright holder have been ignored. I think the genie is out of the bottle, and the only copyright holders who have any hope of asserting their rights are the big conglomerates like Sony and Random House etc. It is a bonus for us librarians and literature lovers
The e-movie site was great, especially the historical movies and film - SanFrancisco before and after the earthquake, "Lumberjack",
